State of the Election 2016
Trump's Taxes
As I feared, Trump has a counter argument to him not paying taxes, and I think it will work. The problem with pointing the many ways Trump has gamed the system is that he has the "pirate defense".
You see in the 18th century, when the European powers signed a treaty to end piracy, the hired perhaps the most famous pirate of all times, Captain Morgan, to hunt down all the other pirates. He then went on to become Governor of Jamaica. (You probably now him from the rum, sadly actually made in Puerto Rico).
One of the reason this will work (and you don't often hear me say this) Trump has a point. Captain Morgan captured a lot of pirates.
This is why I kept stressing to point out how this shows he's a bad business man. These guys really need to read my blog.

The Polls
The major polls from the time of the debate are finally here, and it looks like Clinton has gotten to at least +4%. However, its still too early to draw any real conclusions.
What I'm also looking to see in the polls is how the Third Parties are doing. Gary Johnson had a horrible showing in his last forum which may push away voters. This can be a real game changer because so many are looking to him as an alternative. Though, again most are voting for him out of protest, so that it makes a difference depends on how many were hoping to vote for him, for him. But, again, still too early to tell.
So, ready for some weirdness. There's a reason I keep reminding you that polls refer to at least a week in the past. It's easy to forget, and politicians know this. So, here's what I see happening. This week will be talking about how last week hurt Trump, and how well Clinton is doing. Some will also see this as Trump being hurt by his tax issues. But if I'm right he's not, which will show up during the week of the 2nd debate. He will then argue he won the debate by these good polls.
Its early in the week, so other event, like the VP debate can override this. But, yet it's another reason I would not talk about him not paying taxes. Really, these guys need to read my blog.
